Dorothy Yamamoto counsels clients in and litigates a variety of practice areas including employment (employers/employees); business disputes; civil right; appellate matters; and other civil litigation matters on both the state and federal level.
She is also an active litigator who is well-versed in the Law and Motion practice. She has trial experience working on a high-profile federal trial, and appellate experience briefing and arguing before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal. She also teaches legal research, writing, and advocacy skills at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Ms. Yamamoto is best known for providing practical legal advice and strategies to her clients based on the client’s goals and the realities of the legal system. Her litigation style focuses on actively pushing cases to resolution, while balancing strategic aggressiveness with professionalism. She prides herself on being responsive to clients, and for regularly interacting with clients when developing a case strategy to ensure that the clients understand how their case is progressing.
Education:
Ms. Yamamoto received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley with high honors.
